The Dutch state gambling regulator has accepted 28 applications from companies that want to engage in online gambling in the country. The online gambling market in this country will officially open on October 1, 2021. The filing of applications by future operators began, as we wrote, on April 1 with a failure in the system of a special portal, the work of which the Dutch authorities tried to quickly restore. Applications are being accepted until April 15th. Until June 1, the packages of documents submitted by firms, as reported by My Lucky Story, will be checked by Dutch officials. And the first licenses will be in the hands of the companies, as planned, until September 30th. As a reminder, the authorities of the Netherlands previously announced that they would issue only 35 licenses for online gambling.
