The department reported that a promotional, so to speak, banner with the symbols of the Parimatch betting company was found in one of the men’s toilets of the airport, promising some bonuses to its customers. Exact data on the size of the audience of this advertisement is unknown, but the fact is that similar advertisements in Russia can be placed and shown strictly at sports venues, which clearly do not include airports. According to the law, the potential fine for the defendants – the bookmaker and the airport – could amount to 0.5 million Russian rubles. Questions about the placement of advertising betting companies are regularly raised not only in Russia, for example, using the example of one of the football matches, British experts calculated the volume of advertising of a bookmaker during the broadcast. At the same time, a study was conducted in the UK on the impact of gambling advertising on gamblers. As My Lucky Story reported earlier, the Latvian authorities are not satisfied with the advertising of the bookmaker “Liga Stavok” shown during the ongoing hockey tournament.
