The Ministry of Finance of Armenia came out with the restriction of gambling advertising. A draft law with amendments to the Law “On Advertising” has been submitted for consideration by deputies. The document proposes to introduce restrictions on advertising of any games that involve cash prizes. In particular, the authors of the bill want to limit the display of gambling advertising on television and on websites during the daytime, to completely ban outdoor advertising of gambling and gambling operators. The restrictions apply to operators of land-based casinos, lotteries, bookmakers and organizers of online games. Earlier, the Armenian authorities made changes to the gambling legislation, prohibiting the operation of slot machine halls and betting shops outside special gambling zones.
