The Republic of Belarus is discussing the issue of providing remote access to gambling sites that offer their services on the Internet. The Ministry of Taxes and Dues of Belarus reports that the bill is planned to be adopted on Monday, January 28.The Ministry states that if the submitted document is adopted, the owners of gambling entertainment in the network will be required to provide the tax service with remote access to the operating institution. This means that the services will receive information about promotions, events and other data related to the operation of sweepstakes, bookmakers and online casinos remotely. However, representatives of the Ministry of Taxation of Belarus reported that the owners of online gambling sites will be able to independently set the method for providing remote access based on their technical capabilities. If the bill is adopted, it will come into force as early as April of this year, at the same time that the authorities of the Republic of Belarus legalize the operation of online casinos. Recall that the President of the Republic of Belarus signed a law that completely legalizes virtual gambling sites. According to the law “On the Legal Regulation of the Gambling Business”, the legalization of online casinos implies that operators obtain a license to conduct gambling business and create special taxation. The law will come into force in April 2019, at the same time Belarus will open the licensing process for online gambling operators.
