Sportradar, a provider of information for bookmakers, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Synergy Sports, a developer of automated technology solutions for sports, one of the leaders in the data and video analytics market. The deal, which still has to go through certain procedures, will be completed by July 2021. The acquisition of Synergy Sports will allow Sportradar to develop ways to create, digitize and deliver sports information to an audience, as well as gain access to the “world’s best” video technology – an automated camera system – and use it for its own purposes. The purchase of Synergy Sports will strengthen Sportradar’s relationship with the largest sports organizations in the US and around the world, Sportradar representatives noted. The management of Synergy Sports noted that joining Sportradar will allow the developer to accelerate its development and deepen relations with professional and student sports. Earlier it became known about the possible sale of Sportradar, the cost of which could reach $12 billion, experts say. As reported, Sportradar and FIFA have agreed to jointly fight against fixed football matches. Recall that the Norwegian gambling regulator decided to cooperate with Sportradar to counter manipulation in sports.
