Chile finalizes bill on online gambling

It became known that the Chilean government is preparing to receive a revised bill on gambling. According to the country’s Ministry of Finance, the document is at the final stage of preparation and will soon be submitted to Congress for approval and signature. Innovations are aimed at controlling and regulating the work of the gambling industry, as well as at fighting for business transparency. The authors of the draft hope that the adoption of the bill will help create a competitive and comfortable market for all participants in Chile. Among the improvements there are new age limits for citizens, new rules for taxing the gambling business and prevention of the gambling problem among the population. The reforms could bring the country up to $200 million in royalties. It should be noted that in the second decade of June of the current 2021, the Chilean authorities began to formulate a bill to ban the placement of slot machines outside the casino. The document was submitted to the Chamber of Deputies. Recall that the process of legalizing online gambling in Chile began back in 2020.
