Danish courts confirm correctness of blocking 55 sites of unlicensed gambling operators

The High Court of Eastern Denmark upheld the decision of the Copenhagen City Court on the legality of blocking 55 sites through which illegal operators offered gambling to residents of the country. In March 2021, the NewsOfgambling website wrote about the blocking of these web resources at the request of the state gambling regulator of Denmark. This was the most successful punitive operation by the Danish authorities against offshore operators since 2012. Internet service providers opposed the blocking of these sites, declaring the legality of the web resources, and demanded from officials to prove that these sites were used by the Danes. However, the courts of first instance and appeal confirmed the correctness of the Danish state gambling regulator – operators not licensed in the country were left with 55 web resources blocked. My Lucky Story wrote that the Dutch authorities, having kept their promise, started a war against illegal gambling sites. Earlier it became known about the statement of the State Gambling Regulator of Lithuania, addressed to offshore online gambling operators. Recall that the Ukrainian authorities announced the blocking of 250 sites with illegal gambling entertainment.
