Denmark has simplified the renewal of licenses for online gambling

The Danish Gaming Authority has combined the application for a new license and renewal of the old one in one application form. This is stated in the message of the department. The innovation will affect online casino operators and sports betting. It is reported that the new application form includes two parts, for the opening and renewal of licenses. Certificates of criminal records and debts in the country of the current residence of the applicant should not be issued earlier than six months. In addition, applicants should indicate the beneficial owners and provide financial documents. It was noted that the simplification of the procedure will help gambling business participants who have several licenses that expire at the end of 2021. It was expected that the opening would take place on March 1, but the epidemiological situation did not allow this. In addition, the Danish gambling regulator has blocked 55 websites of illegal gambling operators. We add that the UK has changed the rules for licensing gambling companies. In the United Kingdom, applications can be submitted through a virtual service on the e-government platform. It should be recalled that the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries of Ukraine (KRAIL) refused to issue a license to open a land-based casino outside the hotel.
