Brazilian police have shut down an illegal luxury casino in the southern part of the Sao Paulo metropolis. During special operations carried out by law enforcement officers on the night of March 13-14, 200 people were identified who violated, firstly, anti-coronavirus restrictions, and secondly, the country’s legislation – gambling is prohibited in Brazil. Among those caught hot were celebrities – football player Gabriel Gabigol (now stands for Flamenco from Rio de Janeiro, and previously defended the colors of Inter Milan) and artist Gui. The police said that they had been looking for Gabigol for a long time in an underground casino – and found him in a VIP room: an athlete who wanted to hide his presence in an illegal establishment hid under a gambling table. All detainees were sent to the police department, which deals with crimes against public health. After they took away receipts for further cooperation with law enforcement officers, the offenders were released. As reported, in Thailand, the police arrested 12 people whom they consider involved in organizing illegal online gambling. Among the suspects are both citizens of this country and the Chinese. Earlier it became known that in January and February of this year, Russian security forces liquidated seven underground gambling establishments in Moscow. Recall that the Moldovan authorities blocked access to online gambling in the country, which is controlled from other states.
