Gambling control agency to appear in Ireland in 2021

Ireland’s state gambling regulator will be established before the end of 2021. The agency will focus primarily on health and welfare issues related to gambling. This was reported by representatives of the government of Ireland. Before the start of the work of the state regulator, as officials specified, Ireland will begin to operate – tentatively in September 2021 – new legislation on gambling. Before that, as My Lucky Story reported, the Irish Ministry of Justice announced the emergence of a state gambling regulator in 2023. Earlier, the President of Ireland criticized the advertising of gambling entertainment and promised to protect the people of the country from it.
