The German Parliament has set a tax on operators that provide online gambling. The deputies decided that companies that deal with online slots and poker should pay the state 5.3% of their turnover. This rate will take effect on July 1, 2021, when new rules for gambling come into force in Germany. Representatives of the gambling industry, who opposed such a tax, filed a complaint with the authorities of the European Union, of which Germany is a member.
