Vice President of the Irish Congress Joe O’Reilly proposes to introduce a limit of up to 100 euros per bet in gambling. The senator notes that the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a sharp increase in online gambling. In Ireland, according to him, up to ten thousand euros per minute are spent on online gambling, and 29 thousand Irish suffer from gambling addiction. In addition to limiting rates, the senator proposed requiring operators to display messages about the harmful effects of gambling. Earlier, the Irish authorities introduced an additional tax for gambling operators, the proceeds of which will be directed to the treatment of gambling addiction.
