Microgaming overtakes NetEnt in virtual races

Gambling News and Lucky Stories

Microgaming has released a Bookie of Odds horse racing slot. The video slot came out a day before NetEnt’s high-profile release on the same topic – Scudamore’s Super Stakes. Such a coincidence can hardly be called accidental, given that NetEnt made a big bet on their game and promoted the original project, which was worked on with the famous jockey Peter Scudamore, long before the release. At the same time, the slot from Microgaming is a clone of another slot machine from the publisher – Book of Oz. The developer of the Bookie of Odds, consonant in all respects, was Triple Edge Studios.

The playing field of the new video slot is located on a static background depicting a hippodrome. The atmosphere of live competitions is created by sound effects. High-paying symbols are icons with riders on a red, blue and purple background, as well as a portrait of a competition commentator. The main feature of the five-reel slot machine, as in the case of Book of Oz, is the possibility of a paid restart of individual reels to make prize combos. The cost of a re-spin is indicated under the Respin die at the bottom of each reel and is determined based on the value of the most expensive combination that can be formed when the feature is activated.
The game has retained a feature typical for book slots. The scatter and wild are represented by a single symbol – a book in a gold cover. When 3, 4 or 5 scatters fall out, the multiplier is activated, which allows you to increase the bet by 2, 20 or 200 times. Such a set also activates 10, 12 or 25 free spins.
Before the free spins are triggered, a standard symbol is randomly selected and becomes expanding in the bonus game. For low-paying symbols (10, J, Q, K, A), the function is activated when three icons appear, for high-paying symbols – two. During the use of free spins, you can win a repeated series of free spins.
