Moldova blocks access to foreign online casinos

Gambling News and Lucky Stories

The Moldovan gambling regulator has blocked access to the online platforms of operators located in the jurisdictions of other states. Relevant information is published on the portal of the Public Services Agency. The ban includes online casinos, poker rooms and betting sites, including well-known global and European brands. In total, the state regulator blocked 229 Internet resources. The blocking is caused by the fact that online gambling in Moldova is a state monopoly. In 2011, a law was passed according to which the entire gambling industry, with the exception of individual live casinos, became a state monopoly. For violation of gambling legislation, very serious penalties are provided: from large fines to criminal liability. Earlier, the Russian payment system MIR announced the blocking of all money transfers to foreign online wallets.
