Residents of the Republic of Belarus, as well as many experts, believe that more stringent regulation of the gambling industry is needed, and note that gambling has never been so accessible as it is now. Particularly at risk of addiction to gambling are minors in the country.Today in Belarus, tens of thousands of citizens visit casinos and bet on sports. And for many players, this hobby has turned into a real addiction. In this regard, in 2013, a special registry was created for residents of Belarus, which allows you to independently restrict your access to any gambling establishment. In total, about 60,000 players have applied for self-exclusion during this time. Residents of Belarus can restrict their access to gambling establishments for a period of six months to three years. In turn, the head of the Association for the Development of Gambling Business in the Republic of Belarus, Aleksey Marchenko, states that gambling establishments are not to blame for the emergence of gambling addiction: All players decide to spend time in the casino voluntarily, they are not brought here by force. In the casino, anyone can also immediately write a statement asking them not to let themselves into all gambling establishments in the country. In addition, representatives of the Association came up with a proposal to also increase the age limit for players from Belarus, and let them into the casino only from 21 years old. At the moment, 386 gambling establishments operate in the Republic of Belarus. 26 casinos, 179 gaming halls, as well as 181 bookmakers offer their services to players. Recall that the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposed to approve a special mechanism of self-exclusion from all gambling establishments for players who have discovered signs of gambling addiction.
