Online gambling still banned in Japan

Gambling News and Lucky Stories

Speaking to parliamentarians, the head of Japan’s National Public Safety Commission, Hachiro Okonogi, said the online gambling industry would remain banned. Okonogi stressed that the Japanese authorities do not intend to legalize online gambling, and the law on the development of integrated resorts applies only to land-based gambling establishments. Moreover, the current legislation is aimed at suppressing any kind of online gambling. Recall that in Japan they plan to open three gambling zones (integrated resorts), for the placement of which four regions are fighting – Wakayama, Yokohama, Osaka and Nagasaki.
