Only a Canadian investor claims the right to build a gambling zone in Wakayama

According to the latest data, only one participant remained on the list of candidates for development in the gambling zone of the Japanese prefecture of Wakayama – this is a private investor from Canada – Clairvest Group Incorporated. On June 2, 2021, the name of the winner of the tender will be made public.

The prefectural authorities told local media that a special press conference would be held to announce the results. The conditions and requirements for the contract are already known. It is worth noting that by the deadline for submitting applications for participation in the tender, set for January 15, 2021, two candidates were identified. And the date of the decision was stipulated for the first days of April. But later the commission stated that more time was needed. We also recall that the second applicant for development withdrew his application, justifying his decision by his unwillingness to risk finances during the difficult stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.
