According to a press release issued by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang Province, will launch a four-day promotional campaign starting March 26 to attract residents of the region to Macau. As part of the “Macau Week in Hangzhou” campaign, the resort sector and airlines will present a number of attractive offers for tourists, including vouchers for airfare, accommodation and meals at hotels. In general, it is planned to provide bonuses totaling more than 90 million Patakia (11.3 million US dollars). A similar promotion, involving Macau casino brands, was successfully held by the Government of the Special Administrative Center in September 2020 in Beijing. Earlier, the gambling regulator reported that the income of Macau gambling establishments for February 2021 exceeded $900 million.
