PokerStars pulls out of 2021 Players Tournament

Gambling News and Lucky Stories

The world’s largest brand PokerStars has postponed the Players Championship until better times. According to PokerStars managing director Severin Russet, the poker tournament of the brand’s players will definitely take place when the epidemiological situation permits, but definitely not in 2021. Initially, the PokerStars Players Championship branded tournament was planned to be held in the fall of 2020, but then all plans were confused by the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The championship was postponed for a year, scheduled to be held in Barcelona in August 2021. And here again the sad news about the transfer. In his video message, Russet explained that the organizers would not be able to guarantee the safety of either staff or players. He did not name a new date for the event, but assured that “the event will definitely not take place this year.” As previously reported, the final match of the WPT Garden Poker 2019 poker tournament, the finalists were able to play only in March 2021.
