In the media, Puerto Rico, a state that has had an amended law on legal betting since January of this year, continues to develop and improve the work of the regulatory body. So, at the initiative of the head of state, a consultative group on sports betting will be assembled. The Puerto Rico Gambling Commission will have to decide how and under what scheme targeted deductions will be made from legal betting operators engaged in offline and online sports betting in various formats. To date, the estimated income from local betting companies is in the region of forty million dollars a year. Local authorities are discussing the possibility of distributing half of this amount to civil servants’ pension funds. Recall that in the first decade of January of the current month of 2021, on the territory of the island state of Puerto Rico, the authorities began issuing licenses for slot machines. In the meantime, the Norwegian authorities secured the state monopoly on gambling by law.
