Russia may ease restrictions on betting ads at horse races

It became known that the Russian government will consider options for easing the advertising of sweepstakes at the races. If the new bill is adopted, the specialized media will allow the depiction of elements and images associated with this equestrian sport. Appropriate advertising can be shown in specially designated areas for horse racing.

The proposed amendments to the law on advertising also apply to the possibility of placing advertising material on riders’ equipment, on hippodrome advertising spaces and related paraphernalia. The initiative is explained by the fact that Russian horse breeding, equestrian sport and hippodromes need additional development and promotion assistance – support from the state and sponsors can significantly improve their current situation. It was also noted that no additional financial costs from the state budget would be required to adopt these changes. Recall that earlier My Lucky Story informed its readers that the residents of the US state of California demanded that the issue of betting on racetracks and in tribal casinos be put to a vote. Earlier, in March 2021, Ukrainians called on the authorities to save one of the last hippodromes. This petition was actively discussed in social networks.
