The government of the Russian Federation has begun considering a draft law on creating a complete list of events on which bookmakers will be able to accept bets.At the moment, according to the current law, Russian bookmakers can independently determine the events on which bets are made. However, in the explanatory note to the submitted document, it is proposed to officially approve the full list of events on which it will be possible to place bets in the future. Konstantin Makarov, chairman of the board at the Association of Bookmakers, said that he supports this idea and believes that such a decision will help bring order to the legal betting business. The government also proposed to oblige all owners of sweepstakes and betting shops to place a bank guarantee in a visible place for the client, which will confirm that the organizer of the gambling business is able to fulfill its obligations to the players. Recall that the Russian authorities have submitted for discussion a number of amendments to the document on fines for the owners of the betting business for non-payment of targeted deductions for the development of sports.
