The National Gambling Control Commission of South Korea has published a report on the results of the gambling industry in 2020. According to the document, the turnover of 16 casinos for foreigners amounted to $535 million, which is 59% less than in 2019. Also, according to officials, the attendance of gambling establishments fell by 64%. As noted in the report, the decline in casino turnover and attendance is associated with the cessation of gambling establishments due to restrictive measures. Earlier it was reported that the only casino – where gamblers from South Korea are allowed to play – Kangwon Land reduced profitability due to the political crisis in the country.
