Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards signed into law a bill legalizing sports betting passed by the state legislature. This is the second document, besides the Operator Tax Act, to create a regulated betting market in Louisiana. Mobile betting is legally allowed in Louisiana, the state regulator of this state must develop rules for conducting betting activities and issue licenses to operators. There are a total of 41 licenses for mobile sports betting in Louisiana. Not only bookmakers can obtain a license, but also land-based casinos and racetracks operating in the state, each of them can take two online betting operators as partners.
