The Mexican media are reporting on a new bill regarding the legalization of all betting organizations in the country, the author of the document was the current member of parliament, and at the same time the ex-world boxing champion 44-year-old native of Tijuana – Eric Morales. At the moment, betting is quite active in Mexico, but only a few online casinos have betting licenses, and the lion’s share goes to shadow bookmakers. This state of affairs does not provide a full financial benefit to neither the Mexicans nor the honest players of the gambling industry. The new bill proposes to empower the Mexican Ministry of the Interior to license and control betting. Experts say that over the next five to seven years, the level of income from bets will increase from 422 million US dollars by thirty percent. It will be more profitable for the authorities and residents of Mexico if bets are accepted legally. It should be noted that in April 2021, the Swedish bookmaker Betsson entered the Mexican market by signing a cooperation agreement with the local gambling operator Big Bola. As for land-based casinos in the country, since the end of March they have returned to work after quarantine.
