Suspended from refereeing Sergey Lapochkin is preparing an appeal together with the Russian Federation of Sports

It became known about the intentions of the Russian Federation of Sports (RFS) and Russian referee Sergei Lapochkin, suspended for ten years from refereeing, to appeal against the decision of the Union of European Football Associations – UEFA. On June 8 of the current 2021, KEDC – the UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Control Committee banned Mr. Lapochkin from taking any part in refereeing activities. The reason for such a severe punishment was the fact that the Russian referee, having not accepted in July 2018 an offer from certain persons to “agree” on the results of the match, did not inform the Association about this fact. Today, the Russian side not only fully supports the referee, all the circumstances and the UEFA decision itself are carefully studied. The next step for the RFU and Sergei Lapochkin is to file a complaint with the Appeal Committee of the Union of European Football Associations. Recall that the Russian referee Sergei Lapochkin has been suspended from professional football since March 25. We also note that the betting company Betiton has chosen the winner of the UEFA Champions League – a football player from the French national team Djibril Cisse as its brand ambassador.
