The State Duma of the Russian Federation received an initiative from Deputy Igor Stankevich, a representative of the United Russia party. The document contains a proposal to postpone the mandatory deductions from gambling. Recall that operators make such contributions regularly and the funds are directed to the development of sports. The law on the establishment of the Russian regulator was adopted and entered into force at the end of last year 2020. It is the created Unified Regulator that is authorized to distribute receipts from sweepstakes and betting companies. A new draft law on the postponement of target enrollments, provided that all the necessary amendments and acts are adopted by the government, may enter into force at the end of September this year 2021. If Mr. Stankevich’s bill is adopted in the State Duma, it will be more convenient to form and make these deductions – they can become quarterly. Recall that My Lucky Story published information that the activities of bookmakers replenished the state budget for the first quarter of 2021 by 1.85 billion rubles. Meanwhile, a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Sultan Khamzaev, suggested that bookmakers indicate in their advertising the possible risks of betting.
