The Dutch state regulator began to accept applications for online gambling

Gambling News and Lucky Stories

The State Gambling Regulator of the Netherlands has begun accepting applications from operators for online gambling in the country. Earlier, we recall, there was a failure in a specially created portal for licensing – because of this, the start of the corresponding procedure had to be postponed. The website has now been restored. Companies that want to obtain a permit must submit the necessary documents by April 15, and also pass the necessary checks – by July 1. Officials plan to issue the first licenses no later than September 30th. And already on October 1, the online gambling market in Holland will begin to officially operate. As My Lucky Story wrote, the Dutch authorities will only issue 35 permits for online gambling, although 40 applications have been received from those wishing to engage in this (as of the end of March 2021). How successful this business will be – time will tell, but the results of a survey of residents of the Netherlands showed that they are not very aware of gambling. As reported, the Dutch authorities supported the monopoly of the national operator Lotto BV on state lotteries.
