Photo source IzvestiaThe inclusion of Fonbet in the list of backbone organizations has become one of the most discussed news that has gone beyond the betting market. Let us clarify that the enterprises that are included in this list can, during the crisis, count on the support of the state and its financial assistance. Now there are 643 enterprises on the list. Fonbet General Director Alexander Paramonov decided to comment on this situation and noted that the addition of a bookmaker to this list was a big surprise not only for Russia, but also for the company itself. As Paramonov assured, the organization did not apply to the government with a request to be added to the list. He believes that Fonbet could have been included in the list due to some clear criteria: a large number of employees, prevalence in almost the entire territory of Russia, as well as high tax payments to the state. In addition, according to Alexander, his bookmaker takes an active part in sporting events. For example, the amount of contributions to sports funds in 2019 was equal to 185 million rubles. In addition, the CEO of Fonbet stressed that in this difficult time for everyone, it would be more correct to direct financial resources to those who really need them. Parmonov also expressed his firm position on this issue and said that the organization should not be included in the list of backbone companies. Indeed, now a huge number of small businesses are on the verge of bankruptcy, hundreds of restaurants and cafes have closed forever. Alexander also stressed that institutions that are not equipped with an online presence are especially in need of state support. After all, it is on them that the pandemic hits in the first place. Note that the shareholders of the betting company “Fonbet” decided to allocate 30 million rubles to charity until the end of May. This money will be used to purchase personal protective equipment, ventilators, medicines and other needs of medical organizations.
