Allied Esports Entertainment has put up for sale poker-related assets, including major international poker brand World Poker Tour (WPT). The buyer is a growing company, Element Partners, LLC. The owner was reportedly looking for $90.5 million, but according to Element’s preconditions, was to purchase WPT for $78 million. However, the amount had to be adjusted due to a new buyer offering 100 million. So Element raised the price to $105 million. Allied Esports is a Nasdaq-listed esports and poker venture established in 2019 and jointly owned by Chinese online gaming operator Ourgame International Holdings and Minnesota-based oil and gas company Black Ridge Acquisition Group. The World Poker Tour is a series of international poker tournaments featuring most of the top professional players. As My Lucky Story previously reported, the World Series of Poker 2021 will take place in the fall, in a live format. It was previously planned to hold a poker tournament this summer.
