The full-scale work of gambling operators is hindered by the unavailability of the list of gambling equipment subject to mandatory certification. This was stated by a member of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries of Ukraine (CRAIL) Boris Baum. According to him, the delay in the start of full-fledged work of gambling establishments is related to the procedure for agreeing the list of gambling equipment for certification by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. When the document is ready, a register of subjects and places of certification will be published. Baum assured that soon “the regulator will start the process of accepting applications from licensed operators for equipment certification.” The official believes that in early May, regulatory legal acts will be adopted for the full launch of the gambling business in Ukraine. As My Lucky Story previously reported, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov said that in order to license gambling, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must approve documents regulating the conditions for implementing software by online gambling operators. At the same time, some analysts were skeptical about the legalization of the gambling business in Ukraine. According to them, too high cost of licenses will lead the industry into a gray area.
