The UK Gambling Commission has presented rules to operators to help make gambling safer and more transparent. The changes will officially take effect in spring 2019.According to the changes, the company providing online gambling will be required to conduct verification before the user can make a deposit, place a bet or access the game itself. Also, the gaming operator must verify and identify the age of the user before the expiration of the 72-hour period: At a minimum, the gaming operator must verify the name, address, and date of birth of the user before allowing him to participate in gambling. In addition, if additional information about the player is required after verification, the operator must request it as soon as possible. Representatives of the Commission said that the new rules should help protect underage residents of the UK from the harm associated with gambling, as well as make online gambling more transparent.
