Russian referee Sergei Lapochkin has been suspended from professional football since March 25. The duration of the ban is 90 days. The decision was made by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The sanction was imposed against Lapochkin in connection with a UEFA investigation into a proposal by some unknown people to organize a fixed match in the Europa League between FC Ventspils (Latvia) and FC Bordeaux (France) in 2018. The referee kept silent about this incident, which “surfaced” just now, without reporting it to the football authorities. As My Lucky Story reported, the defenders of FC Dynamo-Barnaul were disqualified due to sports betting. Earlier it became known that the footballer of the Italian “Milan” Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be punished for being a co-owner of a betting company. Recall that the Essentuki football club fell under suspicion of holding match-fixing.
