Uganda national football team goalkeeper Denis Onyago has filed a lawsuit against two bookmakers and Melbet and Paragon Bet for violating his image rights. The total amount of the claim amounted to fifty million Ugandan shillings, which is two million 100 thousand rubles. The athlete accuses bookmakers of using his photo in advertisements for Melbet and Paragon Bet brands. According to the terms of Onyago’s partnership agreement with Gal Sport Betting, the rights to use the image of the goalkeeper belongs only to this company. In addition, the goalkeeper filed a complaint with the gambling regulator in Uganda, demanding punishment for the unfair actions of bookmakers. As My Lucky Story previously reported, the Portsmouth defender has been fined £2,500 by the FA for betting violations. Let us add that the international betting company Betsson acted as the official sponsor of the Chile national football team.
