On March 16, the popular payment system Webmoney stopped conducting transactions of Russian wallet owners when replenishing or withdrawing funds from poker room accounts. All gambling operators operating outside the jurisdiction of Russia are subject to the restriction. After the closure of such a service by QIWI and YuMoney systems, Webmoney remained the last convenient link between Russian players and foreign poker rooms. It is worth noting that, unlike the first two systems, Webmoney introduced restrictions on its own, without any sanctions or instructions from the Central Bank. Thus, Russian gamblers will now have to use other, less popular and convenient services to interact with illegal online poker operators. Earlier, the MIR payment system warned about blocking transfers of Russians to any foreign electronic wallets.
