Who in Louisiana can get a sports betting license as a priority

Gambling News and Lucky Stories

Three draft laws have been submitted to the Louisiana Legislature to legalize and regulate betting and tax the gambling operators involved in it. According to the content of these documents, sports betting is legal in Louisiana – they can be made at ground reception points, on Internet sites and through mobile applications. The state authorities will provide for the issuance of only 20 betting licenses, with 16 casinos and four racetracks operating in Louisiana having priority right to receive them. If these establishments do not receive all 20 licenses, they will be distributed to fantasy sports and online poker operators. Any operator that has received a license to accept bets at land points can also do so on the website and through the mobile application, the bill says. People over the age of 21 can participate in gambling. However, there is a caveat: athletes, coaches and judges are prohibited from betting on sporting events with their participation. My Lucky Story wrote that Louisiana legislators will start discussing the continuation of the legalization of gambling in April 2021. As reported, betting is legalized in the southwestern United States – in Arizona. Recall that in the state of New York legalized mobile betting and set tax rates for operators.
